TRADING GUIDEHow to know if a trade is fair
A fair trade is not always two totals that match perfectly. A good comparison starts with the numbers, then checks whether the items on both sides have similar demand, availability and real trading power.
1. Compare one value system at a time
Choose Basic, Frost, Ride Potion or Realm Value and keep that same system on both sides. Mixing a Basic Value on one side with a Frost Value on the other creates a comparison that does not mean anything. The TradeRealm Calculator keeps both sides on the same selected basis for this reason.
The total tells you the size of the gap. The WIN, FAIR or LOSE label makes that gap easier to read, but the percentage difference is often more useful than the label by itself.
2. Check the exact variants
Normal, Fly, Ride, Neon and Mega Neon versions can carry different values. A Neon Fly Ride pet should not be treated as the same item as a Normal pet. Before judging the result, make sure every item in the Calculator has the exact attributes being offered in the real trade.
This matters even more when several smaller pets are being combined into one larger item, because one incorrect variant can change the total noticeably.
3. Demand can break a mathematical tie
Two sides can be equal in value and still be unequal in practice. If one side contains a pet that many players want and the other contains several items with weak demand, the high-demand item may be easier to trade again later. Some owners also expect an overpay for items that are difficult to find.
Use Pulse, listings, wishlists and other TradeRealm activity as context when those signals are available.
4. Think about liquidity
Liquidity simply means how easily an item can be traded for something else. Popular pets with frequent listings and strong demand are often easier to move. An item can have a respectable numeric value but still take longer to trade if fewer players are actively looking for it.
If you are trading for personal collection rather than future trading, liquidity may matter less. Your goal changes what a “good” trade means.
A simple TradeRealm checklist
- Confirm every item and variant.
- Select one value basis and compare both totals.
- Read the percentage difference, not only the color or result label.
- Check whether one side has noticeably stronger demand.
- Consider how easy the items will be to trade again.
- Decide whether you are trading for value, collection, or a specific pet you personally want.
A Calculator result is a decision aid. It cannot know another player's preferences, and it does not guarantee that a specific offer will be accepted. Use the number to understand the trade, then use market context to make the final decision.
