How TradeRealm Values Work

TradeRealm does not treat one number as the only truth about an Adopt Me item. Different value systems answer different questions, while Realm Value uses activity observed inside TradeRealm to add a community-market perspective.

REFERENCE

Basic Value

Basic Value is the direct reference-value view. It lets you compare items without first translating them into a Frost Dragon or Ride Potion scale. On TradeRealm, Basic Value is kept separate from the other value bases so switching the calculator does not silently change what the number represents.

Basic Value is useful for comparing relative size, checking whether two items are in a similar range, and reading smaller differences without converting them to another anchor.

NORMALIZED

Frost Value

Frost Value expresses an item relative to the Frost Dragon anchor. A Frost Dragon represents 1 on this scale, while other items are shown as fractions or multiples of that reference.

This is especially useful for larger trades because many items can be discussed using the same recognizable anchor. Frost Value is a comparison language, not a guarantee that a player will trade a Frost Dragon for an exact mathematical combination.

NORMALIZED

Ride Potion Value

Ride Potion Value uses the Ride-A-Pet Potion as its anchor. The idea is similar to Frost Value, but the smaller unit can be easier to read when comparing lower-value items or trades where Frost fractions become very small.

Because it is a separate value basis, the calculator always compares both sides using the same selected system rather than mixing Basic, Frost and Ride Potion numbers.

TRADEREALM

Realm Value

Realm Value is TradeRealm's activity-aware value. It is intentionally separate from imported reference values. Its purpose is to respond to what the TradeRealm community is actually doing instead of copying a single external number into every part of the site.

The engine can use signals such as completed trades, accepted offers, item searches, Calculator additions, wishlists, how often an item is wanted versus offered, supply and demand, and recent changes in activity. Signals are useful only when enough real activity exists, so Realm Value also carries a confidence score.

What the Realm Value confidence score means

A value calculated from very little activity should not look as certain as one backed by a large amount of recent activity. The Realm confidence score is TradeRealm's way of showing that distinction. More relevant observations can increase confidence; sparse or inconsistent activity should keep confidence lower.

A high confidence score does not mean the market can never move. It means TradeRealm currently has stronger evidence behind that Realm Value. A lower score tells you to place more weight on the other value systems, item demand, recent listings and your own judgment.

Imported values vs TradeRealm values

External reference data is stored as reference information. It is not the same thing as Realm Value. TradeRealm keeps these concepts separate so an external sync does not silently become a claim about what the TradeRealm community itself is doing.

When TradeRealm approves or maintains its own published values, those values can remain stable even when an external reference changes. This separation also makes value history easier to understand.

Why demand matters

Two items can have similar numeric value but very different trading behavior. An item that many users want and few users offer may be easier to trade or may require an overpay. Another item can have a respectable value but weak demand, making it harder to move.

That is why TradeRealm treats demand, listings, wishlists and trade activity as context rather than pretending one number explains every deal.

How to use the values together

  1. Start with one value basis and keep it the same on both sides of the Calculator.
  2. Confirm the exact item variant: Normal, Fly, Ride, Neon or Mega combinations can have different values.
  3. Check the percentage gap, not only the WIN / FAIR / LOSE label.
  4. Look at demand and availability before assuming equal numeric value means equal trading power.
  5. Use Realm Value as an additional TradeRealm market signal. Pay extra attention to its confidence score when activity is still limited.

TradeRealm values are tools for comparison. The final in-game trade is always decided by the players completing it.
