TRADING GUIDE

Common trading mistakes

Most bad comparisons come from missing context, not complicated math. A few repeatable checks can prevent many avoidable mistakes before you accept a trade.

Mixing value systems

A Basic Value and a Frost Value are different units. Comparing numbers from different systems can make a trade look dramatically better or worse for no real reason. Keep both sides on the same Calculator mode.

Using the wrong variant

A Normal pet is not automatically equivalent to Fly, Ride, Neon or Mega versions. Select the exact attributes for every item before comparing totals. This is especially important in multi-item offers where one incorrect variant can distort the result.

Ignoring demand

Value is important, but an item with weak demand can take much longer to trade. Before swapping a popular item for several less-wanted items, think about whether you would actually want to hold or retrade what you receive.

Chasing every short-term move

Recent activity can matter, but one day of hype is not always a durable trend. Look for sustained interest, enough observations and a reasonable confidence level before treating a sudden spike as a permanent value change.

Assuming FAIR means “must accept”

A FAIR result means the selected values are close within the Calculator's comparison range. It does not mean both players have the same preferences, or that the items have identical demand. Either player can still reasonably decline.

Rushing because an offer is “now or never”

Pressure is a poor reason to skip checks. If you need a moment to verify an item, variant or value, take it. TradeRealm can help compare information, but you remain responsible for the final in-game exchange.

A better routine

Build the exact trade in the Calculator, check the percentage difference, review demand, and ask whether you actually want the items you are receiving. If a deal only looks good after switching to a different value system or ignoring a low-confidence signal, investigate further before accepting.
