Basic Value
Basic Value is a direct reference-value view. It is useful when you want to compare item size without converting everything into another anchor. This can make small and medium value differences easier to read.
Because Basic Value is its own basis, TradeRealm stores and displays it separately rather than pretending it is interchangeable with Frost or Ride Potion values.
Frost Value
Frost Value normalizes items around the Frost Dragon, which represents 1 on that scale. An item worth a fraction of a Frost Dragon appears below 1, while a combination worth more can exceed 1.
The benefit is a shared reference point that many traders understand. The limitation is that very small items can turn into tiny decimals, and the scale still does not describe demand on its own.
Ride Potion Value
Ride Potion Value uses the Ride-A-Pet Potion as the anchor instead. It can make smaller trades easier to read because the unit is smaller than a Frost Dragon. The underlying idea is still normalization: all items are expressed relative to the same reference.
Use it when that scale feels more intuitive for the trade you are building.
Realm Value
Realm Value is different because it is TradeRealm's own activity-aware signal. It can use first-party community activity such as searches, Calculator additions, wishlists, listings, wanted-versus-offered balance, trades, accepted offers and recent changes.
Realm Value also has a confidence score. A low-confidence value should be treated cautiously because TradeRealm may not yet have enough activity to make a strong market inference.
Which value should you use?
There is no rule that one value basis must always be used. Basic Value is convenient for direct reference comparisons. Frost Value is useful for a familiar large-item anchor. Ride Potion Value can be easier for smaller items. Realm Value adds a TradeRealm community-market perspective when enough activity exists.
The safest workflow is to compare a trade in one system first, then switch systems without changing the items and see whether the conclusion remains similar. If one system gives a very different answer, inspect demand, confidence and the individual items instead of blindly trusting the most favorable result.
